Us
RŌCASalon & Spa offers a full array
of services
for both men and women. Our forté is,
however, outstanding hair coloring services, for which we have won numerous
awards including "Best Color & Highlights" for Kansas City on
CitySearch.com.
Our clients come from all over the metro area because they understand that there
is a difference between "good" and "absolutely incredible"
hair color.
We are proud to feature some of Kansas City's top
Master Haircolorists! We
feature state-or-the-art ionic ozone color processors that insures healthy,
long-lasting color that processes in 1/3 the normal time so you can get in and out even faster! Our talented and creative
staff has received training in London, Paris, New York,
Beverly Hills,
Chicago, and/or Hawaii. We also attend international training events and ongoing
continuing education throughout the
year.
Our experienced estheticians,
massage therapists, and nail technicians are incredibly knowledgeable. They
know which products and services will be the most beneficial for each
individual's specific needs. Their ongoing advanced education ensures you will
receive the latest in technology and procedures.
History
Rod
Cavner established Blondie's in 1976 in a small shop on Main Street. It was an
immediate huge success and was literally the talk of the town. In 1981 Rod
relocated Blondie's to a transitioned house in the now "artsy"
district of 39th Street known as "Restaurant Row" (view map). Rod and Rhonda (Mills) wed in 1988 and
together operated the full-service salon for nearly 12 more years until they
moved with their two children to Hawaii in 1999.
Hawaii
offered a spiritual awakening and a rejuvenating lifestyle. However, the reality
of life in paradise began to overshadow the fantasy. In 2003 they returned from
Hawaii, bringing fresh, exciting ideas and exotic products and practices with
them. You'll notice their Hawaiian influence from the exotic bamboo flooring to
the pampering Lomi-lomi pedicure. The salon went through a total makeover,
including its focus as well as design; RŌCASalon & Spa was born.
Environment
RŌCASalon & Spa does not take itself too seriously; we like to have fun! Like
we said before, it's
where big city sophisticated style meets with non-pretentious
"approachable" attitude.
We
do not attempt to project ourselves as a suburban "corporate spa".
Instead, you will sense our relaxed, yet professional atmosphere the moment
you walk in.
We
do not have a "vision statement". Instead, we concentrate on using
our exceptional talents, artistic abilities, years of experience, and
standards of excellence to
reward our clients beyond their expectations.
We will listen to you and
advise you on what options will suite your needs the best: not just on your
first visit, but each and every appointment.
Our
retail center offers some of the finest professional products for your
hair, skin, and nails, along with unique accessories. You
will easily be able to duplicate your service at home by purchasing and
using the products prescribed by your technician.
