About Us

RŌCA Salon & Spa has earned it's outstanding reputation as expert hair colorists, for which we have won numerous awards. Our discerning clients come from all over the metro area because they understand that there is a difference between "good" and "absolutely incredible" hair color.

We are proud to feature some of Kansas City's top Hair Colorists and Stylists! Our talented and creative team has received training in London, Paris, New York, Beverly Hills, Chicago, and/or Hawaii. We also attend international training events and ongoing continuing education throughout the year.

Our experienced estheticians, massage therapists, and nail technicians are incredibly knowledgeable. They know which products and services will be the most beneficial for your individual needs. Their ongoing advanced education ensures you will receive the latest in technology and procedures.

History

RŌCA Salon & Spa was created by two Vidal Sassoon-trained hair experts, Rod and Rhonda Cavner. First established as Blondie's in 1976 in a small shop on Main Street, it was an immediate huge success and was literally the talk of the town. In 1981 Blondie's relocated to a transitioned house in the now "artsy" district of 39^th Street known as "Restaurant Row" (view map). Rhonda joined Rod in 1986 and wed two years later. Together they operated the full-service salon until they took a hiatus to Hawaii in 1999.

Hawaii offered a spiritual awakening and a rejuvenating lifestyle. However, the reality of life in paradise began to overshadow the fantasy. In 2003 they returned from Hawaii, bringing fresh, exciting ideas and exotic products and practices with them. You'll notice their Hawaiian influence from the exotic bamboo flooring to the pampering Lomi-lomi pedicure. The salon went through a total makeover, including its focus as well as design; RŌCA Salon & Spa was born.

RŌCA Salon & Spa does not take itself too seriously; we like to have fun! Our discerning clientele appreciates our sophisticated talent, yet enjoys our non-pretentious, friendly and "approachable" attitude.
