Policies

Appointments
Please arrive promptly for your appointment. For all first-time spa
appointments, please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to
allow ample time to complete a spa intake questionnaire and/or release form.
For multiple
appointments,
we require a credit card to secure your
appointment at time of booking.
Your service
will begin and end promptly at the scheduled times. If you arrive late, we
will be unable to give you the full service time.
We will do our
best to accommodate you, but please understand that your appointment may
need to be rescheduled or adjusted to fit the time available
so that we stay
on schedule for the convenience of our other guests.
Cancellations
We ask that you notify us to cancel or change your appointment 24 hours in
advance. No-shows will receive a fee of 50% of the total appointment time
and will be billed to your credit card on file. For all hair extension
appointments, cancellations must be made within 72 hours. Failure to comply
with the hair extension cancellation policy will result in a fee of 75% of
the service and will be billed to your credit card on file. If you do not
have a credit card on file with us, your fee will be attached to your future
appointment.
Personal Belongings
RŌCA
Salon & Spa provides changing areas
for hair and spa services. Your purse can be checked at the front desk, if
you wish. We request that you leave valuables at home, as we cannot be
responsible for loss of such items.
Cell Phones
We understand that cell phones can be a necessity at times. However, please
turn them to silent and refrain from using them during your service, unless
an emergency, so your technician can perform at their potential.
Gift Certificates

Salon & Spa gift certificates are
available for purchase online or at RŌCA
Salon & Spa in any dollar amount. To
purchase gift certificates online, please click on the gift certificates
icon at the top and follow the instructions.
Gratuities
Gratuities are appreciated and are not included in RŌCA
Salon & Spa services and it is up to
your discretion as to the amount you would like to tip. Gratuity may be paid
in cash, check or credit card. Please refer to the FAQ section below for
more information.

Spa Finder gift certificates.
Returns
RŌCA
Salon & Spa will accept the return of
any unopened and unused merchandise in its original packaging within 30 days
of purchase for full refund. Opened items will be accepted for exchange
only.
Children
Due to safety and noise considerations, we discourage bringing children
under the age of 10, unless receiving a salon service. Parental consent is
required for clients under the age of 18 to receive spa services.
Parking
RŌCA
Salon & Spa is
one of the few business establishments in the area with private parking
facilities. However, at peak times our lot may be full. There is additional
limited on-street parking available along the east side of Roanoke.

Why do prices
vary?
As a result of their achievements and previous work experience, our
professionals work various price structures. While prices vary
accordingly, our technicians are constantly improving through ongoing education.
Whatever price point you seek, you'll enjoy superior service with a special touch to
make your day.
What if I am
late for my appointment?
If you are late for your scheduled appointment, we will try to accommodate you,
but please understand that your appointment may need to be rescheduled or
adjusted to fit the time available. We try hard to not let late guests
cause others to wait for their scheduled time.
How do I figure
gratuity?
We all (yes, even a salon owner) appreciate gratuities for a service well done, just as in other service
industries. Figuring gratuity for salon & spa
services
is typically
handled as you would for service in a fine restaurant. Our
receptionist will
make sure to let you know your retail purchases vs. the total service fee on
your guest check. If your stylist uses the aid of an assistant, this is to
enable your stylist to make more time for you as opposed to you having to wait
for a convenient reservation time. So, it is appropriate to offer the
assistant appropriate gratuity for a job well done.
My favorite
service providers are always so busy. How can I be sure they are available when
it's convenient for me?
Many of our most popular service providers are industry leaders and maintain a
steady clientele. To guarantee an appointment with your favorite provider,
simply make your reservation well in advance, even if that means scheduling your next few
appointments before leaving the salon, especially during busy holiday seasons. This guarantees availability with
your service provider at a date and time that is most convenient to you.

We offer several spa packages which you can view here.
Should I
wash my hair before coloring it or getting an updo?
Contrary to old techniques, we encourage arriving with
clean, dry hair for our
color services to ensure the best color penetration possible. Since our
color product is very gentle it does not need "dirty" hair to act as a buffer
like other products require. However, for a special occasion up-style, we
recommend shampooing the day or evening prior so the
the natural oils in the hair give it better holding properties and make it
easier to work with.
What is the difference between
the Spa
Pedicure, Medi-Pedi, Hawaiian Pedicure, and Express Pedicure?
We offer several types of pedicures, each
customized for a special purpose:
A
Spa
pedicure is an hour long service.
Your experience will begin by soaking your feet in a whirlpool jet tub while
seated in a massaging shiatsu recliner. Working from the knee down, your legs,
ankles and feet are exfoliated and buffed using both exfoliating products and
specially designed foot files. A soothing masque is applied to the skin
and removed with warm towels. Your nail technician will also provide a
massage on your legs and feet using a product to calm, and moisturize your skin.
Your toes are then perfectly manicured, nails filed, cuticles trimmed, and
polish is applied.
A
medi-pedi
is the same as above, but it is 1 1/2 hour long with much more
detail on problem areas such as heavy calluses. ingrown toenails, dry, cracked
heels, etc.
A Hawaiian pedicure is our
signature pedicure. It is 1 1/2 hours of indulgence! It starts with a
spa pedicure and adds a mud mask on your feet and calves which is cocooned in
steamed towels. Then, your feet and calves are given a mango salt scrub
and a deluxe massage treatment.
An
Express pedicure is a 30-minute service.
Your experience will begin by soaking your feet in a whirlpool jet tub while
seated in a massaging shiatsu recliner. You’ll receive a moisturizing foot
massage, and have your toes perfectly manicured, nails filed, cuticles trimmed,
and polish is applied.
What are hair extensions?
The hair extension service is a service where
pieces of hair are bonded to the ends of your natural hair to create a long hair
look or add thickness to your natural hair. Read more about hair

What should I expect when receiving a full
body massage?
When arriving for your scheduled massage appointment, you will be greeted by our
staff and given full instructions on how to prepare for your massage. Our
therapists explain the entire process in detail so that you can make informed
decisions regarding your individual preferences and needs for the service to
maximize your comfort level. That being said, by removing all
undergarments, your therapist will not be constricted in their task. You
will never be uncovered completely at any time and the sheet will remain draped
for modest coverage at all times.
Can I get a
massage if I am pregnant?
Yes. Our therapists are trained in prenatal massage, but
your doctor's approval
is advisable. Please be sure to notify your therapist before your
appointment.
How far in
advance should I call to make a reservation for a full day at the spa?
We recommend that you schedule full day of spa appointments three to four weeks
in advance to be sure you get the date you need.
How long should
I allow my hair to grow before waxing?
For optimum results, hair should be 1/4" in length. If your hair is more than
1/2" please trim to 1/4" before your visit. DO NOT SHAVE!
It is very important not to shave between waxing services to optimize slower
re-growth and obtain a more thorough service. It usually takes 3
treatments before waxing services deliver the smoothest results.
Treatments are usually 4-6 weeks apart.
What payment
types do you accept?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, personal checks, RŌCA
Salon & Spa
gift certificates, SpaFinder gift certificates, and
cash for payment of services.
What
can be purchased with a gift certificate?
A gift certificate is the same as cash and can
be used for any service or product and you
may also include gratuity. Specialty gift certificates, such as client rewards,
are to be used exclusively for what is stated on the certificate.
