2. Call to speak to one of our Certified Hair Extension Experts and to schedule your consultation appointment.  Our consultation fee is $50 and is applied towards your installation. Your initial phone interview will be used to determine if this is right for you.
    

3. Come in for your detailed personal consultation (approximately 45 min.) so your stylist can discuss with you the

   1. Maintenance required.

   2. Types of extensions we offer, and which will suit your needs best.,

   3. Your personal needs and desires for enhancing your hair (full head for added length; partial for added volume only; highlights only; temporary needs; or just on the sides as needed).

   4. Customized color solutions.

   5. Hair type, length, and the amount needed for your desired end result (all which will ultimately determine the final price).

   6. The time frame in which you may have the extensions installed.  We keep a large quantity of extensions in-stock since we do so many extensions, and we can even place overnight orders, so your wait time is dramatically reduced.  Typically, you can have your extensions installed within 1 - 2 weeks at the latest!
      
      Remember, we use premier, custom ordered hair that may take a few days to customize just for you. In certain extreme situations, it can be overnight delivery.  Color, texture, thickness, and length will be established, as well as your expectations.  The detailed personal consultation takes approximately 1 hour.  A 
       

4. If you decide you want to move forward and place the order, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to order your custom extensions, with the balance due at the time of installation.
    

5. Once your order is placed, we schedule your installation and first maintenance appointments.
    

We cannot quote prices over the phone due to the fact that each person's hair density, length, color needs, and desired overall look, is different.

How does it work?

We use extension systems that start with the highest quality 100% Full Cuticle European "Remy" human hair, matching the texture you require.  Unlike other methods, the process uses no chemicals or glue and is completely safe and painless to apply.  Our Certified Hair Extension Experts use patented application techniques where individual extension strands are expertly chosen to enhance your color and texture and create a totally believable match. 

 

How are the extensions applied?

Hairalk and Hotheads® extensions are bonded with a medical-grade tape where your own hair is gently sandwiched between two extension mini-wefts.  Both techniques are easily removed and re-used several times.  The individual extension strands are expertly chosen to enhance your color and texture and create a totally believable match.

 

With these techniques, your hair stays in perfect condition and continues to grow as normal. So, when it comes time to remove them, your own hair will be in just as good a condition as the day we put them in.

 

What makes the hair used for these extensions special?

The hair we use comes from Europe from areas where people have protein-rich diets that create ultra-healthy hair.  We do not use Chinese hair for quality reasons.  The cuticle remains intact and all hairs have the cuticle running in the same direction.  This is premium hair that can be re-used, saving you money.  This is the hair of your dreams!

 

What types of hair are available for various hair extension techniques on the market?

• Human Hair: This is a very broad generalization; by law, only 10% of the hair listed as "human hair" has to indeed be human in order to state it is human hair.  The remaining hair may be synthetic or from animals.
   

• Processed Chinese hair: Lower Quality, Lowest Price.  The hair is processed, meaning the cuticle is always removed, so the hair looses much of its health.  This hair is put in an acid bath, dissolving the cuticle.  Then, a synthetic coating is applied to smooth the hair, which will only last a few shampoos, so it is best for temporary extensions.
   

• European Hair: Higher Quality, Medium Price, (although this particular name does not mean you always get the best of European Hair, the quality varies widely).
   

• European 100% Cuticle Hair: Much Higher Quality than just European (and the quality is easy to determine). meaning the cuticle is left on.
   

• Remy hair: the hair cuticle is intact and all cuticle is going in the same direction
   

We use beautiful, premier quality 100% Full Cuticle "Remy" human hair.

 

Will it damage my natural hair?

There is no tension, stretching, chemicals or high heat used on the application or takedown process meaning your hair is left undamaged and healthy.  Our utmost concern is to protect your hair from any damage so that you can improve your look with confidence.  In some cases, clients experience hair growth and fortification because the extensions force them to stop over-processing. 

 

It is your responsibility to maintain your extensions as we teach you and to be faithful with regular maintenance appointments in order to maintain the integrity of your own hair and the extensions.  It's kind of like the saying" Guns don't kill people ...", but in the case of hair extensions, it's "The Hair Extension System doesn't cause damage; pulling, tugging and waiting too long for maintenance causes damage!".

 

Can you see them?

The extensions are always applied behind the hairline and away from the natural partings.  The extensions are color matched to your hair color so they blend naturally with your hair and are virtually undetectable.  You can safely wear your hair in a ponytail without the extensions being detected!  Your hair will move and swing naturally since it is matched to your own hair texture.

 

How long does the hair last?

Our extensions will last 8 - 10 weeks with a re-bond appointment.  This keeps your own hair in optimal condition while allowing for seasonal color changes. 

 

Are they comfortable?

As long as they are applied by a Certified Hair Extension Expert, there is no discomfort.  The feeling most people report is similar to having a tiny bobby pin in your hair, at most.  The process is very gentle.  Extensions can take a little while to get used to and may cause some slight discomfort while sleeping at first.  However, after a few days, when your hair loosens up a bit, you probably won't even notice them.

 

Can I brush and care for my hair like normal?

We recommend brushing often, specifically at the scalp area, to prevent naturally shedding hair from tangling.  And thanks to these new application methods, you can swim, exercise, color, perm, and style your hair the way you normally do.  You can even use your favorite hot tools like flat irons and hot curlers.  During your appointment, you will receive exact care instructions.

 

Will I be able to wear my hair in an up-style or ponytail?

We install the extensions with that in mind, so you can wear your hair in multiple up-styles, as well as half up, half down styling.  However, tight ponytails are not recommended.  

 

Will the hair match my color and texture?

Absolutely.  We take pride in custom matching your color, curl, and texture perfectly, even if you have gray hair or want to add highlights.  Custom blending is our specialty since we are the areas premier hair color salon, incorporating any subtle shifts in tone that your existing hair may have!  We recommend blending colors to achieve a beautiful, natural look.

 

How much length can I add to my hair with extensions?

You can custom order hair as long as you want, up to 25".  The standard length is from thirteen to seventeen inches.  However, the health, length, and density of your own hair will also play a factor, due to proper blending and the weight of the extensions.

 

Can extensions be used if my hair is thinning on top?

Unfortunately, any form of hair extensions are not meant to fill in sparse hair on top, as the connection bond will show through.  Fortunately, we offer semi-permanent solutions for thinning hair on top.

 

Why do I need a consultation?

Each application is entirely custom - down to the hair color, texture and length desired.  Since custom extension can range between $500 for some highlights or a slight bit of added volume to $5000 for a full head application of hair you can sit on (depending on the length and density), our consultation was created to explain the options available for different budgets.  We will provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision about what will work best for your hair needs and explain all the options available. 

 

How long does it take?

The application time is determined by the number of strands used and the technique.  A full-head new application usually takes only approximately one hour including photos and the blending cut for each technique.

 

What is the price for hair extensions?

We do not attempt to offer you the best price, only the best hair and attachment system available anywhere!  When planning on your budget for hair extensions, remember:

• If you currently highlight your hair, you will only need a partial touch-up from now on, saving $$$.

• Your own hair will be well-maintained and will not need frequent haircuts, again saving $$$.

• You can have fabulous color & highlights without damaging your own hair, allowing your hair to grow healthy!

• You can expect your extensions to cost from $900 - 3500, depending on the technique used and the length and fullness desired.

What is the cost of maintenance?

Because the extensions and are reusable you do not purchase new hair each visit.  We take care to completely reeing and re-attach the extensions and gently comb naturally shed hair during maintenance, rather than simply sliding the bond up to the scalp and re-attaching to the same hair.  Expect your maintenance appointments to take longer than the original installation to allow for removal time. This is performed 4 - 6 weeks after the initial installation, depending on your hair type.
